From fine classic to contemporary philately, the 17thSCHLEGEL auction on October 5-6, 2015 includes a wealth of objects for those appreciatingphilatelic variety and quality. This autumn sale will be led by our four special parts LUXEMBOURG, RUSSIA, BAVARIA, DISINFECTED MAIL as well as the again multifaceted and strong collection section.
A selection of exceptional objects is for sale in our first special section LUXEMBOURG FIRST ISSUE of William III 1852-1880 with various unused top values, covers, superb multiples, cancellations and retouches. The offer and special section RUSSIA presents 21 selected Lots of Russia-classics 1858-1905, with rarities, each with certificate. Classic connoisseurs should enjoy our special section BAVARIA from an estate of a well-known collector, with fine individual items. We also recommend our remarkable selection DISINFECTED MAIL WORLDWIDE 1673-1972, a special section with 178 lots including rare covers and cancellations from different countries and periods which represents a good documentation of decontamination procedures with handstamps, labels, perforations, slits and markings; a nice part of original documents regarding regulations is attached.
In our collection section we offer a wide array in the range of 60-15000 EUR with a variety of interesting objects. Among them the extensive and fine collection French Antarctic Territory 1948-1989 (Lot 1796), showing a wide array of different issues, noted imperforated varieties, covers as well as a selection of proofs. Also, collector KarRathjen offers his Award-winning exhibition collectionOLYMPIC SUMMER GAMES 1936 (Lot 1931) presented and written up on 440 pages including rare covers, postcards and elusive cancellations,an excellent piece for the sport/Olympian collector.With all our collections, please have a look at the photo section of our catalog as well as at our online catalogue where you’ll find depictions of most of the collections and of all single lots.
