Description
Birnhelm mit Dekorätzung einer Trabantengarde, Norditalien um 1570. Einteilig geschmiedete, gegratete Glocke mit kleinem Spitzfortsatz. Leicht abfallende, umlaufende Krempe mit gebörteltem Rand. Die Glockenaußenseite vollständig mit qualitätvollem Ätzdekor, unterteilt in vier Segmente mit figuralen Dekormedaillons unter Blattranken, einfaßt von Bordüren mit floralen und kordelartigen Bändern. Umlaufende eiserne Futternieten. Innen mit klassischem Hammerschlag und zwei alt bearbeiteten Fehlstellen. Gute Qualität. Z 2 Sehr ähnliche Exemplare im Museum Poldi Pezzoli, Mailand, siehe Armeria 1, Seite 249-250, Nr. 218 und 219. A rare and fine Italian guard cabasset of good quality with the entire skull adorned with quality etchings, circa 1570.
