Description
Hirnhaube, deutsch 2. Hälfte 16.Jahrhundert. Einteilig geschmiedete Glocke ohne Kamm, Krempe oder Zier mit ungebörteltem Rand als Haube (sog. Hirnhäubel). Auf Höhe der Ohren halbhohe Ausschnitte mit zwei Nieten und Reste eines Lederriemens. Zwei Futter- und Befestigungslöcher vorder- und hinterseitig. Am Rand innen Abdruckspuren eines Lederstreifens. Patina. Z 2- Provenienz: aus einer namhaften österreichischen Sammlung. Formschönes, seltenes Original, das bei Verzicht auf einen Helm in die Hüte dieser Zeit eingenäht oder unter einer Haube getragen wurde als nicht sichtbarer Kopfschutz gegen Schläge. Vgl.
