1845 folded letter to London, endorsed ‘Private Steamer’ then
redirected to Hampshire, with a fine four margined 1d red, lettered
A C neatly tied by a barred ‘324’ cancel of Guernsey with a
GUERNSEY AU 4 1845 datestamp along with a blue SOUTHAMPTON / SHIP
LETTER h/s on the back. A small hole where the address has been
scratched through for redirection that does not detract from this
appealing letter that opens out well for display

ISLE OF MAN. 1704 folded letter to London datelined Port St Mary 7
Apr 1704 that was carried to Amsterdam as there was no regular
postal services from the Isle of Man until 1765, and outside mail
had to rely on passing packet boats, which is why it went to
Amsterdam. In Amsterdam it was charged 3 stuivers and then
delivered to London on May 29th where it was charged 8d. A very
rare letter and the earliest known postal item from the Isle of Man
outside museums. A very important collectors item
