Our 235th auction for stamps, coins and postal history will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, August 6th to 8th, 2024, with an attractive range of over 3,300 lots of international philately and numismatics. In our summer auction, as usual including "live bidding" on the Internet, we offer a wide range of items with many rarities from German and international collecting areas from the classics to modern times. The old German states in particular are very well represented (around 1,100 lots), including rarities such as several attractive examples of the "Black Ones" from Bavaria, a substantial local collection from Braunschweig with many rarities, divided by us into over 200 lots, Hanover with an attractive unused unit of No. 9 (block of six), Saxony with three beautiful 3 Pfg. red (No. 1a), one of them announced by a representative from Magdeburg and many others. Furthermore, the German Reich with rare issues, selected quality items and valuable collections, post-war Germany with a beautiful delivery
German local issues after 1945 with rare stamps and documents (over 160 lots), Federal Republic with the rare plate error of the 20 Pfg Heinrich Lübke 1964 (Mi.No.429 I) and others.
The German colonies and foreign post offices are represented with around 165 lots, including many highlights from the various colonial areas as well as documents of postal history interesting such as a rare war mail document from Sweden from October 1914 as the only known foreign mail with Russian Babaev censorship and forwarding from the German Post to the Chinese Post.
The European collecting areas shine with a good range of items from Greece, Great Britain, Old Romania and Poland, including a mint-fresh luxury block of four from the “Polish Rulers” series from 1990, which was never issued. The collection and coin department includes several hundred lots, mostly untouched items, collections and estates, numerous large lots and valuable coin collections, investment and collector coins from over 2500 years of coin history. These include numerous antique coins in good quality, including three Greek gold staters from 304-195 BC, a rare 3 ruble platinum coin from Russia in 1835, Great Britain with the sought-after five pound gold coin “IN MEMORY OF DIANA PRINCESS OF WALES” in 1999, several gold ducats from various provinces of the Netherlands and much more.

The auctioneer receives a commission from the buyer amounting to 20 % of the hammer price, as well as 1,- Euro for each lot purchased, for the dispatch an additional charge for postage + insurance costs will be added. For the commission, the lot fee and the shipping the legal value added tax is charged (currently 19 %) and indicated. For the lots marked with ° the auction is held in own name and invoice (sale of difference taxed lots § 25a), hammer price, auctioneer’s commission and expenses already include VAT (currently 19%) which is not indicated. Supplies to EU customers outside Germany holding an EU VAT-ID-number underly the “Reverse Charge-System” for commission and expenses the German VAT does not apply, the buyer is obliged to include the respective VAT in his VAT-declaration in his home country. Non-EU-Member States are exempted from VAT on commission and expenses with presentation of relevant export documents.
