Cherrystone - Worldwide Stamps and Covers
April 24th, 2018
We are pleased to present two exceptional sales, to be held April 24-25. First up is our sale of Rare Stamps and Postal History of the World, including the David Mace collection of Inverted Centers of the World. This small (688 lots) but powerful sale contains many interesting and desirable items from Belgian Congo, China, Italy, Great Britain and British Commonwealth, Hungary, Italian Area, Poland, Russia, as well as rarities from South America and the rest of the world including numerous large lots and collections.
On April 25th we will offer a United States Collection of mostly unused singles formed by David Mace of Sydney, Australia. David meticulously built his collection over the last 20+ years, filling his want list through New York Area dealers and auctioneers. David was especially delighted when he could add a rarity to his collection, such as the 1851 1c in dark blue shade (Scott No.5var - the only recorded example), plus virtually every single Scott Catalogue Number, including Reprints, Reissues and Special Printings (203, 205C, 211D); most of the rare Coils (314A, 389, 482A and others), complete Bluish Papers, Washington-Franklins with special perforations (423A,423C, 544,493) and the 1923 2c Harding (613). There is also a nice selection of back of the book, including Postage Dues, Special Delivery, Officials including SPECIMEN overprints and Newspaper stamps. In addition, there are better Plate Blocks, Booklets (with 2c A.E.F. booklet pane), Revenues with Inverted Centers and much more.
