Our 183rd auction includes more than 7,400 lots with a large variety of rarities and highlights.
Stamps:
The main catalog comprises a variety of interesting lots. In the area of the Old German States, a “One kreuzer black” of Bavaria (starting price 1,200.-) as well as rare commercial mail of Heligoland are especially noteworthy. The letter franked with MiNo, 3, 6d and 7a is accompanied by a certificate of Pichl (starting price 2,000.-). Aside from sought-after standard issues, many special items such as a “Burg Rheinstein” that was not issued (6,500.-), the miniature sheet “Galopprennen 1936” with the variety “imperforate” in mnh condition (starting price 10,000.-) of which only three copies are known, MiNo. 728xY in mint extremely fine condition (starting price 5,000.-) or a rare not issued NSFK (starting price 8,000.-).
In the area of the “German dependencies”, the issues WWII are especially eye-catching, including rarities of Alexanderstadt, sought-after Pskov miniature sheets, the Horokhiv issues in postmarked and unused condition and as a rare tête-bêche pair (starting prices 1,400.-, 800.- and 2,500.-, respectively). A mint Montenegro MiNo. 19 with only 1000 copies is offered as well as sought-after field post issues such as MiNo, 6 ** and 7AK ** or MiNo. 12 IV postmarked. Furthermore, the series “Extremes of world politics” (Extreme der Weltpolitik) and MiNo. 49 in ** condition (starting price 1,000.-) offer rare propaganda issues.
The German issues after 1945 are represented with all standard issues as well as many special items and varieties. In the area of the Soviet Occupation Zone/ German Democratic Republic, there are sought-after printing marks and border lines of the KÖPFE issue. West Berlin and FRG include numerous varieties and special items.
Europe and overseas territories are well represented with sought-after issues, including ** issues of China or the rare issue “Fannenhissung” of the Falkland Islands (starting price 1,500.-).
Countless estates are offered in their original untouched condition without any item selected previously. The offer includes the general collection Old German States (starting price 1,500.-), the German Reich and territories as well as Germany after 1945.In the international area, the second part of the “Faldera” collection is particularly noteworthy with rare offers of several European and overseas territories.
Numismatics:
A large number of medals, numismatic literature, militaria, collections and jewelry is also put up for auction. Our current catalog comprises over 2,100 lots.
Classical Antiquity:
There is a diverse offer with many Celtic, Greek and Roman coins. Especially noteworthy are the Greek coins from a Rhenish private collection such as a Corinthian stater (315-310 B.C.) in BU (lot 81, estimated price 500.-). Apart from this coin, there are other very well-preserved pieces.
Old German States:
Aside from several thalers, an extremely rare gold guilder of Augsburg with the title Charles V is offered. It is in extremely fine condition despite planchet fissures and edge and rim errors (lot 275, estimated price 3,000.-).
German Empire:
The offer includes 2,3 and 5 mark silver coins as well 5, 10 and 20 mark gold coins, including a 20 mark coin of Anhalt from 1901, XF and PR (lot 474, estimated price 2,000.-). Another rarity is the 20 mark coin of Bremen from 1906 in XF (lot 487, estimated price 1,700.-).
Colonies:
Among the highlights are 15 rupees of German East Africa from 1916 (lot 602, estimated price 3,000.-)
Europe and overseas:
In this area, 210 lots from all over the world are offered. Aside from single gold and silver coins, there are also several gold coin sets such as a set of Haiti from 1967 (lot 664, estimated price 10,000.-). The 10,000.- yuan coin of China from 2006 is a unique investment opportunity. The coin is made of one kilogram of gold (lot 640, estimated price 55,000.-).
Medals:
The medals include pieces from all over the world such as a gold medal on occasion of the 300th birthday of Louis William, Margrave of Baden-Baden from 1956 (lot 981, estimated price 3,800.-).
Bank notes:
250 lots with bank notes from all over the world are offered. The vast majority of them is in uncirculated or extremely fine condition.
Numismatic literature:
In this auction we also present the numismatic library of Dr. Neussel. The library comprises numerous standard works with a focus on antique Roman numismatics, including the complete Roman Imperial Coinage (RIC) (lot 1582, estimated price 600.-).
Militaria:
This area offers many sought-after collector’s items. The highlight is the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with oak leaves and swords from 1939. It is the second version of the company Godet Co. from Berlin, with the Presidential Chancellery marking “21” on the reverse (lot 1754, estimated price 20,000.-).
Jewelry:
There is a large offer of over 170 lots. A valuable brilliant solitaire pendant is especially worth mentioning (lot 1995, estimated price 5,000.-).
Short Terms and Conditions
The sale of auction lots is subject to differential taxation. If we ship lots inside the EC, the buyer shall pay a buyers premium of 23,8 % of the hammer price and a lot fee of 3,– EUR per lot (both including VAT), also costs of shipping and insurance. If we ship lots to a country outside the EC, the buyer shall pay a buyers premium of 20 % of the hammer price and a lot fee a 3,– EUR per lot, also costs of shipping and insurance. If the goods are exported outside the EC by the buyer himself, it may be possible to refund VAT. For gold coins that are exempt from VAT, the buyer shall pay a buyers premium of 20 % of the hammer price and a lot fee a 3,– EUR per lot, also costs of shipping and insurance.
